LookGig Data Retention and Rights Policy V1.0
1. Purpose
This policy explains how long LookGig retains personal data and the rights you have over your data under GDPR and Estonian law.
2. Retention principles
LookGig retains personal data only for as long as is necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, or as required by law.
When data is no longer needed and no legal requirement requires its retention, LookGig deletes or anonymises it.
3. Retention periods (indicative)
| Data category | Indicative retention period |
|---|---|
| Active account data | For the duration of the account plus applicable post-closure period |
| Booking and transaction records (accounting/tax obligations) | 7 years from the booking date, in accordance with Estonian accounting law |
| Payment and settlement records | 7 years, in accordance with Estonian accounting law |
| Identity-verification documents and images | Until verification is superseded or account is closed, plus any legally required period; minimum as needed for dispute resolution |
| Support communications and complaint records | 3 years from resolution, or as required by law |
| Dispute and damage-claim evidence | Duration of any active dispute, legal proceeding, or appeal period, plus applicable statutory period |
| Marketing consent records | Until consent is withdrawn, then a record of withdrawal is retained as required |
Actual retention periods may differ where a specific legal obligation or active dispute or proceeding requires longer retention.
4. Your data rights under GDPR
If you are based in the EU/EEA, you have the following rights:
Right of access — you may request a copy of the personal data LookGig holds about you.
Right to rectification — you may ask LookGig to correct inaccurate personal data.
Right to erasure — you may ask LookGig to delete your personal data in certain circumstances (for example, where it is no longer needed for the original purpose and no overriding legal obligation requires retention).
Right to restriction — you may ask LookGig to restrict processing of your data in certain circumstances.
Right to data portability — where processing is based on consent or a contract and is automated, you may receive your data in a commonly used machine-readable format.
Right to object — you may object to processing based on legitimate interests.
Right to withdraw consent — where processing relies on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time.
Right not to be subject to solely automated decisions — where LookGig uses automated decision-making with significant effects, you have rights regarding that process.
5. How to exercise your rights
Send your request to support@lookgig.com with:
- your name and registered email address;
- a description of the right you wish to exercise;
- any supporting information needed to identify your request.
LookGig will respond within 30 days (or within the applicable statutory period if different).
For complex or multiple requests, LookGig may extend the response period by a further 2 months with notification.
LookGig may need to verify your identity before processing a rights request.
6. MOTHER and data-rights requests
MOTHER may explain this policy and direct you to the contact address.
MOTHER cannot process, verify or action any data-rights request; all data-rights requests require human review and decision.
7. Complaint about data processing
If you believe LookGig has not handled your data correctly, you may raise a complaint with:
- LookGig directly at support@lookgig.com;
- the Estonian Data Protection Inspectorate (Andmekaitse Inspektsioon): https://www.aki.ee/
8. International transfers
Where personal data is transferred outside the EEA, LookGig will rely on appropriate safeguards (such as adequacy decisions or Standard Contractual Clauses) as required by GDPR.
